Nevin, parl. bor., seaport town, and par., in SW. of Carnarvonshire, on Carnarvon Bay, 6 miles NW. of Pwllheli, 1575 ac., pop. 2003; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Nevin is an extensive fishing town, and occupies a secluded situation, being shut in on 3 sides by a semi-circular range of hills. It ranked as an ancient incorporation. In 1284 a grand tournament was held here by Edward I. to celebrate his conquest of Wales. Nevin forms one of the Carnarvon District of Parliamentary Boroughs, which returns 1 member.
