This house, now called Invereske, was the post office for Skinidin until the retiral of the last postmistress, Mrs Jane Ferguson, on 10 April 1987. The Ferguson family had run the office for 80 years. The nearest post offices are now at Glendale or Dunvegan, but the lamp postbox strategically positioned outside the entrance to what was formerly the shop end of the house [[3380762]] gives a clue to the building's former use.
