A view across the lake from the entrance to the towpath from Mytchett Lake Road. The large building in the background are part of the Keogh Barracks, hence the barriers preventing access from the Basingstoke Canal to the lake. There is an interesting optical illusion at this point. The buildings seem to be much closer than they are when you step out onto the towpath and the whole scene opens out.
