The Tweed is well seen from the summit ridge of Neidpath Hill. Peel House and newer houses at Peel are in the woods above centre left. Ashiestiel Bridge is above centre, and the curving line across the fields on the right-hand hillside is the route of the former North British Railway from Edinburgh via Peebles to Galashiels.
