The Castle Howard avenue

Uploader's Comments

The avenue runs ruler straight for 5 miles across the rolling country of the Howardian Hills and is a fine example of 18th century landscaping, created to make a grand approach to Castle Howard. For most of its length the road is lined with lime and beech trees.
