My big regret was not measuring the girth of this tree. If the Sussex post and rail fencing behind it is set at 6 foot centres then the tree could be 5 or 6 feet in diameter. The former would equate to a girth of about 15.75 feet or around 260 years old and the latter over 18.85 feet around or around one hundred years older. But it could be bigger still?
