Part of a large enclosure which surrounds the head of Hobdale Gill. The tongue descends to a level area before steepening to the confluence of Hobdale and Grimes Gills. Below is the broad valley of the River Rawthey with (left to right) Whernside, Ingleborough, Great Coum and Middleton Fell forming the skyline.
