The annual Tyne Tour canoeing event always takes place over the weekend of the first Friday in November, which doesn't guarantee good weather, but is almost always a great way to see the autumn colours in the trees by the riverside. The Sunday of the 2010 event started out with glorious sunshine, even if the river level was a little low, and views upstream got the sun on the autumn leaves. This beech tree particularly caught my eye, overhanging a slower reach as a group of paddlers drifted past.
