There's a distinct line across the lower part of these near vertical cliffs, below which are steeply angled precambrian rocks of the South Stack formation, whilst the pale rocks above [with some reddish staining] are Holyhead quartzite. look carefully and you can see a rock climber low down on the cliff, and above him, half hidden behind a flake is his companion on a pitch. Walkers on the clifftop help to give scale.
