At the start of a nice round trip to visit a snow patch on Hart Fell. Starting from Fruid, up to Hart Fell summit then down its shoulder, across to a hill called Cape Law, where I spent 30 minutes fly fishing the ravenous wee 3 inch broonies in Gameshope Loch (the highest loch in the South of Scotland) then down the spectacular, scree lined couloir named Ellers Cleugh. A ten mile round trip and as per usual, I didn't see another soul, in contrast to the Lake District fells where the queues across the tops literally numbered in the hundreds long last time I visited them. The Moffat Hills are brilliant for magnificent solitude.
