Work has started that will result in a new rail and road crossing at Pont Briwet, replacing the existing toll bridge for road traffic. This is a view of things at the moment from the Llandecwyn side of the estuary. The bridge has been closed recently, resulting in a 9 mile diversion to get to Penrhyndeudraeth.
