This is a section of the county road between Hawnby and Kepwick over the Hambleton Hills. Tarmac will not be reached until after the gate at SE489914. The route is popular with walkers, mountain bikers and 4X4 drivers, the latter being thankfully banned from the nearby Hambleton Drove Road.
