Volcanic rocks, coast at Eyemouth

Uploader's Comments

These are lavas erupted in the Old Red Sandstone (Devonian) era more than 400 million years ago, and predate the Carboniferous volcanoes that produced familiar features such as Bass Rock, N Berwick Law and Arthur's Seat among others. These Devonian lavas are well seen a few km to the NW on the coast at St Abb's Head.
