Rookhope Burn

Uploader's Comments

Rookhope Burn is a major tributary of the River Wear. In this view downstream towards the village of Rookhope the left (north) bank can be seen to be suffering significant erosion; the erosion exists further east too and at one location gabions, (wire caged rocks), have been set into the river bank where more attrition could threaten the valley road.
