Lay Gutter Valley, Hampshire

(2a) A tour of the WWII Ashley Walk Bombing Range - Illuminated Target

Uploader's Comments

This area consisted (probably) of an array of 12 concrete light boxes (I noted just 11) arranged in an approximate 90 ft diameter circle. The boxes had light fittings installed that were powered from a generator at the Main Practice Tower up on Hampton Ridge. Evidence suggests that this target intended for night bombing was little used.
