Kirkbank Strip, Carlisle

Kirkbank station, site/remains 2000

Uploader's Comments

View west: the ex-NBR Roxburgh (right) - Jedburgh (left) branch used to cross here. Along with most of the railways in the Borders, the branch had been damaged in the Great Floods of 13/8/48. Passenger services on this branch were never restored, but the branch was restored in two weeks and remained open for goods until 10/8/64. (Cf. [[3066884]]).
