Kinver Edge, Staffordshire

Triangulation pillar on the Staffordshire Way, Kinver Edge looking northeast

Uploader's Comments

The setting up of these triangulation pillars, used in surveying, started in the UK in 1935. Many of them are no longer needed as they have been replaced by modern technology. However they remain useful to walkers as navigational aids. This one is set up on the long distance footpath, the Staffordshire Way, which here passes along Kinver Edge.
