This traditional fisherman's cottage belonged to a Maggie Duthie who rejected any modern innovations until her death in 1950. The house never had either electricity or running water and depended on paraffin lamps, open fires, a cooking range and a nearby well. The house is now opened to the public during the summer months with rather restricted opening hours.
