Twiston Mill

Uploader's Comments

Now used as farm buildings, this was originally a water-powered cotton mill. The main mill building, now demolished, was at right-angles to the road, just in front of the lefthand building shown here. Originally the mill dam was somewhat larger than the present reservoir, and at a somewhat lower level, so that it stretched down to the road. By 1900 it had been reconstructed as at present.
