Ilam, Staffordshire

Ilam Cross

Uploader's Comments

Ilam Hall is in the Manifold Valley. The Hall was rebuilt between 1821 and 1826 in the Gothic taste. It was a large and picturesque mansion with battlements and turrets but what is left is rather truncated. The whole estate is now owned by the National Trust but the Hall is a Youth Hostel. The village was rebuilt around 1840.
