This short tunnel was built for the Peebles - Galashiels railway. It was blocked for some years following re-alignment of the A72 road overhead, but has recently been opened again for pedestrians and cyclists. It avoids the need to cross the busy A72 and links to the existing path following the dismantled railway to Cardrona.
