Exposure of Limestone

Uploader's Comments

A small exposure of dolomitic limestone nearing the boundary with the mudstones (BGS maps). This area is much more thinly bedded than that exposed at Pleasley. It was formed in the inland Zechstein sea during the Permian. This looks like a small scale quarry, possibly for local building stone.
