Hooper's Point, Pembrokeshire

The Three Chimneys, Marloes sands

Uploader's Comments

A well known geological feature near the eastern end of the beach. The Silurian sandstones and shales here must have been laid down horizontally, but have been forced into a near vertical position over millions of years. The softer shales have eroded more quickly to form the 'chimney' flues.
