This old mill has an entrance to the building on the east side and a channel cut to it from the adjacent Burn of Vigon. The water will have left the mill by the exit facing the viewer. The mill belonged to the croft, Vigon. Clearances and eviction of the tenant farmer from Vigon in 1867-1868 resulted in this land changing use from arable to sheep pasture, when the mill fell into disuse.
