Seen here passing through the Slapton Ley NNR, heading towards Strete Gate at the northeasterly end of Slapton Beach. Notice how sandy the soil is along this entire length of the path, washed up after many storms over the years. On the left are the extensive reedbeds of the Higher Ley, which start at Slapton Bridge and finish up near Strete Gate. There are hidden lagoons within the reedbeds only accessible by boat and completely hidden from the shore.
