An impressive cliff of shattered, thinly-bedded layers of what looks like shale and flagstone. One of the footpaths from Hole House crosses here but there is no bridge - nor is there one on the other footpath a little further downstream. We decided to check this out and ended up wading across on slippery cobbles. This would not be a good idea if the river was up.
