The centre two buildings are Grade II Listed. St Peter's (nearer) is one of a pair with St Joseph's (out of sight behind) by John Coates Carter presumably built early in the 20th century as the Abbey was built, to Coates design, in 1910 for the Anglican Benedictine monks who came to Caldey in 1906. The two cottages are to an unusual T-plan sharing a single chimney. Former perfumery and forge in lighter blue was remodelled by J Coates Carter from an existing cottage. The stone cylindrical tower to the rear was originally a water-tower intended to have a conical roof.
