Blackdown Rings

Uploader's Comments

The western side of the bailey and its surrounding ditch, with bluebells. The motte and bailey that form the inner rings in the northwest corner of the hillfort date from the C11 or C12. This view is from a level platform between the bailey and the iron Age rampart, and which my have been an animal pen or ruined building (Devon Archaeological Society proceedings 48 (1990) Page(s)87-101). http://www.pastscape.org/hob.aspx?hob_id=444690
