Cast iron post with wooden attachment by the A3400 (was A34), in parish of Long Compton (Stratford on Avon District), North of Long Compton, 200m W of track to sewage works on verge. Shipston iron casting, erected by the Stratford to Long Compton Turnpike Trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads: LONG COMPTON / {hand to left} 1 MILE
