The weir at Shepperton controls the water flow of the River Thames. It is spans the Thames between Lock and Hamhaugh islands. A lock situated on the Northern side of Lock Island accommodates the passage of vessels. A slalom canoe club use the outflow of the weir to provide the slalom course. Some of the gates can be seen in the photo.
