A view in the general direction of the pond in the south-western quadrant of West Park Meadow Local Nature Reserve. The land in this picture once belonged to Field House, a large residential property upon which West Park School (at the cul-de-sac end of Park Road) now stands. However, prior to 'the consolidation' of strips of land under the Enclosure Acts of the late C18th Field House stood in one of three local fields, i.e. "Derby Field". The undulations seen here are said to be remnants of some of the medieval strips of land.
