Neither maps at 1:50 000 or 1:25 000 give a name to the valley here or to the minor stream that flows in it; there's a blanket name on the Explorer map across this groove and others nearby however - Manorgill Hushes, so it seems likely that we can use the name Manor Gill. In common with the main valley below, Great Eggleshope, and other side valleys this one has been heavily mined in the past; a spoil heap is prominent near to the camera position and the term hush clearly indicates a history of mineral extraction.
