Chalk escarpment in the valley between Wormshill and Bedmonton

Uploader's Comments

This chalk escarpment may have been used as an open chalk mine. Many deneholes can be found in this area, used since medieval times for extracting chalk marl for reducing the acidity of soil. This natural bowl has also been used as an enclosure for livestock.
