St Peter's Church was completed in 1869 and designed by Robert Brass, Pevsner calls it a 'decent, honest piece of work'. Since 1982 it has been part of a United Benefice with Hawkshead, and on 1st May 2003 the parishes of Rusland and Satterthwaite joined the Benefice.
