Goose Crag is a minor eminence of the moorland hill country lying between Wet Sleddale and Swindale. The view is from the line of a public footpath crossing between the two valleys; that route is currently marked slightly differently by the OS on maps at the 1:25 000 and 1:50 000 scales.
