Double arch bridge on the S&MJR, near Combrook

Uploader's Comments

Looking south towards a bridge on the long dismantled Stratford and Midland Junction Railway. The double arch design is unusual. The lower arch spans a brook, and the upper arch goes up to the level of the embankment that the old trackbed is on at this point. There was much evidence of brickwork cracking and falling out, and subsidence. It makes you wonder how much longer structures like this can stay standing without maintenance, when their foundations are being eroded by water.
