Mattergill Sike is one of the streams draining the remote northern side of Meldon Hill. The mine spoil is quite extensive and the mine level itself enters directly into rock out of view to the right of the image. Distantly, Cow Green Reservoir can be seen and on the horizon above it Chapel Fell and Fendrith Hill.
