View SW, towards Dolgellau and Barmouth; ex-GW Ruabon - Dolgellau - Barmouth line (closed 18/1/65). The train, behind Churchward 43XX 2-6-0 No. 5399 (built 11/20, withdrawn 9/62), left Pwllheli at 12.45 has run via Portmadoc and Barmouth, and from here will go via Ruabon and Chester - a very scenic journey, eventually to Birkenhead (Woodside), arriving 18.55.
