Starting at Bridge of Ericht an estate road heads north on the east side of the valley of the River Ericht, passing coniferous plantings. Unusually the road is tarmacked, (though roughly), and was probably installed as a hydro-road, a purpose which it probably still serves at least in part. Two mountain walkers can be seen in the distance through the thin mist.
