A straight run up to the road junction. In 1940 there was a plan to use fields at Dapple Heath (probably the flat ground to the north-west)as a Relief Landing Ground for the training aircraft based at RAF Meir. It never happened probably because it would have been rather too close to the airfield then under construction at Hixon.
