At the centre of the three sided structure, there is a skyline diagram indicating the visible features on Foula and elsewhere in the Shetland Islands that can be seen on a clear day. The diagram is carved into a plaque made from copper salvaged from the wreck of HMS Oceanic which sank in calm waters 3 miles east of Foula in 1914.
