Cross Rigg, County Durham

Heather moorland of Cross Rig

Uploader's Comments

Cross Rig is a minor heathery rise to just 389m. The heather moorland hereabouts is managed for grouse shooting and in recent times the heather covering of the hill top has been burned giving the appearance of it now being dead, but regeneration will occour and new heather shoots will grow. The low hill in the middle distance is Stoterley Hill.
