Names on areas of moorland are often applied vaguely and one wonders sometimes at their origin and accuracy; that said, according to OS Explorer map OL43 the fence seen here is rising north-westwards on Dean Rigg on the lower slope of Cowbyers Fell. Warlaw Pike is the point on the horizon between the second and third fence posts.
