Coldstream, par. and town (police burgh), S. Berwickshire, on river Tweed, 13½ miles SW. of Berwick-upon-Tweed by rail and 62 miles SE. of Edinburgh -- par., 8534 ac. (214 water), pop. 2561; vil., pop. 1616; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. The Coldstream Guards, the second oldest corps in the British army, were raised here by General Monk in 1659-60.
