This footpath that gave a real sense of remoteness was transformed when Electricity Pylons were established along its length. This website confirms this happened in the 1970s and a service road was bulldozed in. A view taken within yards of this current image is [[[652914]]]. Features can be identified easily on both images. The summer/winter contrast is nothing compared to the loss of a true footpath-wide footpath and the encroachment of the pylons. In this case I find that progress has been very unkind to the environment.
