Footpath 40UD046 Y 10/32 follows a curving track towards Chedington Woods, but turns back on itself before reaching them, presumably to avoid crossing from Somerset into Dorset. Meanwhile, where the hedges start, footpath 40UD046 Y 10/48 veers off to the right, making the county crossing when it becomes footpath W42 12. Following it is problematic.
