The road from Woodbrooke to Cheriton Cross passes close to the tops of two hills, rather than following a valley. (Why?) From the highest point on the southern hilltop there is a view across fields and a valley with two areas of woodland (the Whitehill Brakes) to Crockernwell [[SX7592]] seen in the distance on the right
