Surrey, 4 miles NW. of Woking ry. sta., 9579 ac., pop. 2499; P.O., T.O.; the seat of Chobham Place is 2 miles NW. of vil.; 4 miles W. are Chobham Ridges, a range of hills commanding extensive prospects; the success of a military camp formed here in 1853 led to the formation of a permanent camp at Aldershot.
