Country house in a delightful setting. The house appears to have had a chequered history, being built originally for the Cayley family in the 18thC. During the first world war it became a military hospital, whilst in WW2 it was the HQ for a Guards armoured division, then later as a camp for Italian POW's. Since then it has served as a school and is now a conference centre and retreat for the York diocese.
