Narrowboat on the Severn opposite Diglis Bottom Lock, Worcester

Uploader's Comments

A Viking Afloat hire boat approaching downstream from the direction of Stourport has been steered precariously close to the western bank of the river before turning to port towards Diglis Bottom Lock. Being unable to swing his tiller hard to the right for fear of the stern going into the shrubbery, the steersman made a gentler manoeuvre away from the bank, passed the lock in a wide curve and returned upstream to land his locking crew. Maybe he meant to do it that way. :-)
